WFRK will support Nijat Rahimov

Due to the accusations made by the International Testing Agency (ITA) against the member of the National Team Nijat Rahimov, the athlete addressed an appeal to the Federation about his intention to defend his innocence with a request to provide legal support.

According to the ITA notice the athlete must provide his written explanation by February 1 of that year. At the same time, a disciplinary hearing may be additionally requested, during which the athlete will have the opportunity to call his arguments personally.

Currently the WFRK has worked out the issue of attracting a highly qualified lawyer with international experience ready to support the athlete in defending his rights and interests in all instances including the Lausanne International Sports Arbitration.

Adhering to the principle of zero tolerance for doping Kazakhstan Weightlifting Federation is interested in an objective investigation and will provide information on the progress of this case hearings.

To recap, WFRK have received this notification on January 18 of this year. For the period of investigation into incident the athlete was suspended from all sports competitions and training camps.
