The International Weightlifting Federation (ITF) made an official decision to impose sanctions on three Kazakhstan weightlifters, whose doping tests revealed traces of prohibited preparations.
According to the decision of the ITF disciplinary commission, Maya Maneza and Zulfiya Chinshanlo were disqualified for two years, and Svetlana Podobedova for eight years. Disqualification comes into force from the time of the appearance of violations as a result of reanalysis of the Olympic test in London, namely on May 26 in 2016.
With the assistance of the Federation of Weightlifting of the Republic of Kazakhstan, athletes managed to defend all their non-Olympic achievements, titles and awards.
It should be reminded that earlier a group of lawyer and experts in the field of laboratory analysis and sports law, created on the initiative of the Weightlifting Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for several months studied the results of studies of Kazakhstan athletes, and also supported athletes at all stages of the investigation and litigation.
